Certificate for the Swedish Armed Forces and Police Authority
If you have ADHD or ADD and wish to do military service or apply to the Swedish Defense University or Police Academy, a medical certificate may be required. The requirements for the certificate are described in detail on each authority’s website.
The certificates must be issued by a psychiatrist and are always paid for by the applicant. The psychiatrist provides the certificate based on an individual clinical assessment and cannot guarantee that the applicant will be accepted by the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish Police Authority. In some situations, it may instead be more appropriate to complete an assessment of diagnosis (a structured re-evaluation of a previously given diagnosis).
To allow the psychiatrist to make an initial assessment of whether there are sufficient grounds to issue the certificate, a remote consultation (video or phone appointment) is scheduled. The psychiatrist needs to have access to your medical records in advance of this appointment. If you both agree to move forward with a more comprehensive in-person assessment, you can then book a first appointment with the psychiatrist.
Please note that additional administrative service applies for medical record review and preparation of the certificate.
You can find pricing for administrative services, remote consultations, and in-person visits on our rates and booking page.
Other Certificates (e.g. for the Swedish Social Insurance Agency)
If you or your child are currently receiving care from us, certificates may be issued for an administrative fee.
If you or your child are not currently in contact with us, a doctor’s appointment is required for assessment and issuing of the certificate.
Prices for administration, doctor’s appointments, and telephone/video consultations can be found in our price list.
N.B.! Starting from January 15 2026, you will no longer need certificate for the Transport Agency if you have ADHD or autism.
